Rocker Stand Shim Set (0.060" Thick) - Type 1 Engines

Set of four 0.060″ rocker stand shims for aircooled VW Type 1 engines. These shims fit beneath the rocker shaft stands on the cylinder heads and are used to obtain correct rocker arm geometry during engine assembly and valve train setup.

Correct rocker geometry is vital for proper valve train operation and reliability, particularly on modified or performance aircooled VW engines fitted with upgraded camshafts, ratio rockers, aftermarket cylinder heads, longer valves or custom pushrod combinations. Raising the rocker shaft assembly using shims helps position the rocker arms at the correct angle throughout the valve lift cycle.

Using the correct rocker geometry reduces side loading on the valve guides, improves valve lift accuracy and helps prevent premature wear to rocker arms, valves and guides. These thicker 0.060″ shims are commonly used where larger geometry corrections are required on heavily modified engines.

Supplied as a set of 4 shims, enough for one complete engine.
