Rocker Stand Shim Set (0.020" Thick) - Type 1 Engines

Set of four 0.020″ rocker stand shims for aircooled VW Type 1 engines. These shims fit beneath the rocker shaft stands on the cylinder heads and are used to accurately adjust rocker arm geometry during engine assembly and valve train setup.

Rocker geometry is critical on all aircooled VW engines, particularly on performance or rebuilt engines fitted with upgraded camshafts, aftermarket cylinder heads, ratio rockers or custom pushrods. By spacing the rocker shaft assembly away from the cylinder head, these shims help position the rocker arms correctly throughout the valve lift cycle.

Correct geometry improves valve train efficiency, reduces side loading on the valve guides and helps prevent premature wear to the valves, guides and rocker components. These shims are commonly used when setting up performance engines or correcting geometry after machining work or engine modifications.

Supplied as a set of 4 shims, enough for one complete engine.
