Beetle Rear Wheel Cylinder - 1968-79 - TRW

The wheel cylinder is a critical hydraulic component within the drum brake system. When the brake pedal is pressed, brake fluid pressure forces the internal pistons outward, pushing the brake shoes against the drum to create friction and slow the vehicle. When the pedal is released, the pressure drops and the shoes retract. A worn or leaking cylinder can cause reduced braking efficiency, pulling to one side, or contamination of the brake shoes with fluid.

This unit features a 17mm bore, providing the correct braking force and balance for rear drum brake systems on IRS-equipped models. TRW construction ensures smooth piston movement, reliable sealing, and long service life.
