Brake Star Adjusting Gear

This high-quality brake shoe adjuster star gear is an essential component for correctly setting brake shoe clearance on aircooled VW drum brake systems. Designed to fit both front and rear drum brakes, this adjuster allows precise expansion or retraction of the brake shoes to ensure optimal braking performance.

The star gear works in conjunction with the adjuster screw, allowing you to fine-tune the position of the brake shoes against the drum. Proper adjustment is critical—too loose and braking efficiency is reduced, too tight and it can cause drag, overheating, and premature wear. This adjuster ensures smooth, accurate adjustment for safe and consistent braking.

Manufactured for durability and long service life, this component is ideal for replacing worn, corroded, or seized adjusters during brake servicing or restoration work. For best results, it is recommended to apply copper grease during installation to prevent seizure and ensure easy future adjustment.
