Beetle Rear Wheel Cylinder - 1968-79 - ATE

Premium quality ATE rear wheel cylinder, manufactured to OEM standards for later aircooled Volkswagen models. ATE are an original equipment supplier, known for precision engineering, excellent sealing performance, and long-lasting reliability in braking systems.

The wheel cylinder is a vital hydraulic component within the drum brake system. When the brake pedal is pressed, brake fluid pressure forces the internal pistons outward, pushing the brake shoes against the drum to create braking force. When the pedal is released, pressure drops and the shoes retract. A worn or leaking cylinder can result in reduced braking efficiency, uneven braking, pulling to one side, or contamination of the brake shoes.

This unit features a 17mm bore, ensuring the correct braking balance and performance for IRS rear drum brake setups. The ATE design provides smooth piston operation, high-quality seals, and consistent braking response.
