009 Distributor Service Kit (For Original Bosch 009 Models)

This high-quality rotor arm is designed to suit Bosch and reproduction 009 mechanical advance distributors, as well as a wide range of VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) distributors from the late 1960s through to the early 1990s. Suitable for 65mm diameter distributors, it provides reliable ignition performance across both aircooled and early watercooled VW models.

The rotor arm is a key ignition component, mounted on top of the distributor shaft. As it spins, it transfers high-voltage current from the ignition coil to each contact inside the distributor cap, directing the spark to the correct cylinder at precisely the right time. A worn or faulty rotor can lead to misfires, poor starting, rough running, or complete ignition failure.

This reproduction distributor cap is a direct replacement for most VAG (Volkswagen and Audi Group) distributors from 1968 to 1986, specifically for engines retrofitted with vacuum advance or Bosch 009 style distributors. With a 65mm diameter, it is suitable for many 1300cc–1600cc aircooled engines and select watercooled models. This cap ensures reliable spark distribution by connecting the ignition coil to the spark plugs via the rotor arm inside the distributor.

A common choice for restored classics or tuned engines, this cap is made to OEM spec with durable terminals for consistent electrical contact. It features correct fitment for a wide range of models, including:

Note: Always compare to your original part before ordering. Not compatible with modern hall sensor or electronic ignition systems without distributor caps.

Replacement ignition contact points for selected aircooled Volkswagen models and for engines using a 111 905 205L distributor or aftermarket 009 distributor. These points are a key part of the conventional ignition system, opening and closing as the distributor cam rotates to trigger the ignition coil and fire the spark plugs. Correctly fitted and adjusted points help give reliable starting, smooth running, and stable ignition timing.

As points wear, pit or burn, they can cause weak spark, misfiring, poor starting, flat spots and rough idle. Replacing them restores proper switching inside the distributor and helps keep the ignition system working correctly. These points should be set to a 0.4mm / 0.016″ gap during fitting, and the ignition timing should be checked afterwards.

These points fit distributor model 111 905 205L and also suit 009 distributors. As many classic VW and Porsche vehicles may have had distributor changes over the years, fitment should always be confirmed by the distributor number fitted, not just by vehicle model.
