3/8" NPT 45 Degree Adapter (Full Flow, Oil Pumps, Etc)

These 3/8″ NPT 45 degree brass adapters are designed to solve clearance issues in external oil systems on aircooled Volkswagen engines. When a straight fitting cannot be installed due to tight engine bays or component interference, this angled adaptor provides a simple and effective solution, allowing oil lines to be routed cleanly and safely.

Manufactured from durable brass, this adaptor features a 3/8″ NPT male thread on one end and a 3/8″ NPT female thread on the other. The male thread screws directly into any 3/8″ NPT tapped port such as a full flow modified crankcase, oil pump cover, remote oil filter head, or thermostat housing. The female side then allows a 3/8″ NPT barbed hose fitting to be installed, creating a secure connection point for your oil hose.

In a full flow oil system, correct hose routing is essential to maintain smooth oil flow and prevent leaks or restrictions. These 45° adapters help reduce hose strain, improve routing angles, and prevent kinks in the oil lines—particularly important in performance engines or tightly packaged installations such as Beetles and Buses.

For installation, you will typically also require a 3/8″ NPT barbed hose fitting, suitable oil hose, hose clamps, and thread sealant. These adapters are commonly used in conjunction with external oil coolers, thermostats, and remote filter setups.
