32/36 EMPI EPC Progressive Carburettor Kit - Type 1 Engines

Upgrade your aircooled VW with this complete EMPI EPC 32/36 progressive carburettor kit, designed to deliver improved performance while retaining good cruising economy. The progressive twin choke design allows the engine to run primarily on the smaller choke during normal driving for smoother fuel economy, while the secondary choke opens progressively under acceleration to provide additional airflow and power when required.

This kit is ideal for standard and mildly tuned Twinport engines up to 1600cc and provides an excellent alternative to more expensive Weber progressive carburettor setups.

Supplied as a complete installation kit including the EMPI EPC 32/36F carburettor with electric choke, isolated centre manifold section, chrome gauze air filter, linkage kit, fuel line, fittings, and mounting hardware.

The carburettor features a vacuum port for use with vacuum advance distributors if required. Factory jetting is supplied pre-installed, although for optimum performance and drivability professional rolling road setup is highly recommended.

The manifold supplied fits upright Type 1 and Type 2 engine applications using dual port end castings. Single port engines can also use this kit when combined with EMPI single port end castings (part number AC1293237).

Some installations may require minor modifications to the fan shroud around the electric choke area. Early Beetles may also require deck lid stand-offs for clearance depending on engine and air cleaner setup.

Please note the inlet manifold is not pre-drilled or tapped for a brake servo vacuum hose connection.
