24 Plate Mesa Oil Cooler Element

EMPI 24 plate Mesa external oil cooler for VW Type 1 aircooled engines. Designed to improve oil cooling efficiency and help maintain stable engine oil temperatures in performance and hard-driven applications.

The Mesa-cool multiple flow path design provides improved cooling performance compared to many conventional oil coolers while maintaining good oil flow with minimal pressure loss. This helps protect critical engine components by reducing excessive oil temperatures without compromising oil pressure.

Manufactured from aerospace quality aluminium with fluxless oven-brazed construction, this oil cooler is highly resistant to vibration, corrosion and cracking. The compact slimline design makes it ideal for installations where mounting space is limited, while the finned construction improves heat dissipation and cooling efficiency.

The 24 plate version is well suited to mild performance engines, fast road cars, off-road vehicles and weekend cruisers that require additional cooling capacity without the size of larger race-style coolers.

This cooler is commonly used as part of a full flow oil system together with remote oil filters, thermostat kits and electric fan systems. On enclosed engine vehicles such as Beetles and Buses, it is recommended to retain the original doghouse oil cooler and use the Mesa cooler as an additional external cooling system.

Ideal for Beetles, Karmann Ghias, Buggies, Baja Bugs and mild performance Type 1 engines.
