This front wheel cylinder is designed to fit drum brake equipped VW Beetles, Karmann Ghias, and VW 181 Trekker models manufactured from October 1957 onwards. The wheel cylinder forms a vital part of the hydraulic braking system, using brake fluid pressure to force the brake shoes outward against the inside of the brake drum when the brake pedal is pressed.
Over time, wheel cylinders can suffer from corrosion, internal seal failure, or fluid leaks which may lead to reduced braking performance, uneven braking, pulling under braking, contaminated brake shoes, or complete hydraulic failure. Regular inspection of the brake system is essential, especially on older classic vehicles.
Manufactured to high standards for reliable braking performance and durability, this wheel cylinder is ideal for routine maintenance, restoration projects, or complete brake rebuilds.
Sold individually. Two required per vehicle. We always recommend replacing wheel cylinders in matched axle pairs to maintain balanced braking performance.

Not suitable for 1302 or 1303 Super Beetle models.
