This genuine Bosch rotor arm is designed for use with Bosch and reproduction 009 mechanical advance distributors, as well as a wide range of VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) distributors from the late 1960s through to the early 1990s. Suitable for 65mm diameter distributors, this OEM-quality component ensures precise and reliable ignition performance across both aircooled and early watercooled VW models.
The rotor arm is a critical part of the ignition system, rotating with the distributor shaft to transfer high-voltage current from the ignition coil to each terminal in the distributor cap. This timed distribution of spark is essential for proper combustion. A worn or inferior rotor can cause misfires, hesitation, poor starting, and reduced engine efficiency.
Manufactured by Bosch, the original equipment supplier for many VW ignition systems, this rotor delivers excellent conductivity, accurate fitment, and long service life. It is ideal for routine servicing or as part of a complete ignition refresh, especially when fitted alongside a Bosch distributor cap, ignition leads, and spark plugs.
Designed for distributors without a built-in rev limiter, this rotor will not fit certain 10mm spindle distributors (commonly found on some T25 models), so compatibility should always be checked before installation.
