Early Beetle Rear Deck Lid And Valance Conversion Kit (Convert Late Beetle To Early Look)

This replacement rubber seal is designed to fit the deck lid (rear engine lid) on all VW Beetle models from 1960 to 1979. Manufactured from durable, weather-resistant rubber, this seal ensures a tight, secure fit between the engine lid and the body, helping to keep dust, water, and engine fumes out of the engine bay and luggage compartment area.

A properly sealing deck lid is essential for protecting your engine and maintaining the overall cleanliness and performance of your classic Beetle. Over time, original seals can become brittle, cracked, or compressed—leading to leaks and poor alignment. This quality reproduction seal is an ideal solution for restorations or preventative maintenance.

Installation is straightforward and typically involves pressing the seal into the channel around the rear body edge. The rubber is pliable enough to conform to the shape of the lid while providing a snug, weatherproof seal.

Replacement rear valance for use on all VW Beetles from 1961 to 1966.

The actual valance shape did not change from the start of production in December 1947 to July 1966 so in theory this valance will fit all Beetles manufactured before July 1966.  However there were changes to the pressings and style of the valance so to be 100% correct this valance is designed for 1961 to 1966 models.

If you have a later Beetle from August 1966 onwards this valance can also be installed to give that earlier look and install a Longer Decklid like the `W` or Semi`W` style.
