EMPI 2 Tip GT Exhaust - Type 1 Engines (Not 1200cc)

Performance-style EMPI GT twin tip exhaust system, designed to give your aircooled VW a classic European look while improving exhaust flow and engine response. This system features twin chrome tailpipes that exit through the original rear valance cut-outs, maintaining a factory-style appearance with an upgraded finish.

Built with 1 3/8″ (35mm) tubing, this exhaust provides improved gas flow compared to restrictive standard systems, helping the engine breathe more efficiently. The result is better throttle response, smoother running, and a slightly sportier exhaust tone without being overly aggressive.

The system includes a black painted steel muffler with chrome tailpipes, along with fitting hardware and flex hoses for installation. It is designed as a direct replacement setup for Type 1 engines, making it ideal for both restoration projects and mild performance upgrades.

The exhaust works by directing spent gases away from the engine while maintaining correct back pressure. A well-designed system like this helps balance performance and drivability, especially on engines that have been tuned or upgraded.

Important Note:
EMPI exhaust systems are supplied with a protective paint coating to prevent rust during storage. This coating will burn off during initial use. For best long-term results, it is recommended to remove the coating with solvent and repaint the system using a high-quality heat-resistant paint. Exhaust systems are not covered under warranty for surface rust.
