90.5mm + 92mm Barrel Spacer Kit (0.010" Thick) - Type 1 Engines

Cylinder base shim set for aircooled VW Type 1 engines using 90.5mm or 92mm cylinders and pistons.

These precision shims fit between the cylinder barrel and crankcase to adjust engine deck height and compression ratio during engine assembly or rebuilding. Increasing the cylinder spacing slightly increases combustion chamber volume, allowing accurate compression tuning and piston-to-head clearance setup.

Cylinder base shims are commonly used during performance engine builds, especially when setting deck height on 1776cc, 1835cc and other large capacity Type 1 engines. They are also useful when correcting deck height after machining work or fine tuning compression ratios during engine blueprinting.

Designed for use with 90.5mm and 92mm barrels commonly fitted to performance Type 1 engines.

Manufactured to 0.010″ thickness (0.254mm), making them ideal for precise deck height corrections and fine compression adjustments.

Sold as a set of 4, enough for one complete engine.

We recommend carefully measuring deck height and calculating final compression ratio before final assembly. Always ensure cylinder seating surfaces are clean and flat during installation.
