90.5mm + 92mm Barrel Spacer Kit (0.180" Thick) - Type 1 Engines

Cylinder base shim set for aircooled VW Type 1 engines using 90.5mm or 92mm cylinders and pistons.

These precision-engineered shims install between the cylinder barrel and crankcase to increase deck height and alter the engine compression ratio. By spacing the cylinders further away from the crankcase, combustion chamber volume is increased, helping reduce compression while providing the clearance required for stroker crankshaft combinations and performance engine builds.

Cylinder base shims are commonly used during engine blueprinting, especially on larger displacement engines where deck height adjustment is required after machining work, flycut cylinder heads or custom piston and crankshaft combinations.

This version is designed for 90.5mm and 92mm barrels typically used on performance Type 1 engines including 1776cc, 1835cc and other larger capacity engine builds.

Manufactured to 0.180″ thickness (4.572mm), making them suitable for substantial deck height correction and large compression ratio adjustments on stroker and race engines.

Sold as a set of 4, enough for one complete engine.

We recommend accurately measuring deck height and calculating final compression ratio before final assembly. Cylinder seating surfaces should always be checked for cleanliness and flatness during installation.
