200mm Kennedy Stage 1 Clutch Pressure Plate (1700Lb)

High performance Kennedy Stage 1 clutch pressure plate designed for all aircooled Volkswagen engines using a 200mm flywheel. Producing approximately 1700lbs of clamping force, this pressure plate is ideal for uprated street, fast road, and mild race engines producing up to around 130bhp.

Manufactured by Kennedy Engineered Products (KEP), one of the most respected names in VW performance clutch systems, this pressure plate uses a multi-finger diaphragm design for improved clamping force and smoother engagement compared to older three-arm styles. The contact face is manufactured from a high tensile cast iron alloy for excellent heat resistance, strength, and long-term stability under hard use.

Supplied with the early style release bearing centre ring fitted for pre-1970 gearboxes, however this centre ring and retaining clip can be removed for compatibility with later guide tube style release bearings used on 1971-on transmissions.

This heavier pressure plate provides increased clutch grip for larger engines, performance carburettor setups, stroker engines, and vehicles used for spirited driving. Due to the increased pedal pressure, Kennedy recommend ensuring the clutch operating shaft, clutch forks, and bushes are all in good condition. Heavy duty clutch cross shafts and urethane bushes are strongly recommended.
