Type 3 Crankcase Dipstick Conversion Kit

Convert your original VW Type 3 crankcase for use in a Beetle or Transporter with this quality oil dipstick adapter kit. Designed for original Type 3 and universal engine cases that have not been machined for a standard dipstick tube, this adapter provides a simple and reliable solution when installing a Type 3 engine into a Type 1 or Type 2 vehicle.

Unlike Type 1 engines, original Type 3 crankcases were not fitted with the conventional dipstick tube. Instead, they use a combined oil filler and dipstick assembly mounted to the lower right-hand side of the crankcase. When fitting one of these engines into a Beetle or Bus, the original oil filler arrangement is often unsuitable due to limited space.

This adapter replaces the original Type 3 oil filler assembly and allows a standard Type 1 or Type 2 dipstick tube to be installed, making engine oil level checks quick and convenient once the engine is fitted. Supplied complete with a sealing gasket, it provides a leak-free installation and is ideal for engine conversions, restorations and custom builds.
