Aluminium Crankshaft Power Pulley - Black Timing Marks With Holes - Type 1 Engines

Performance small diameter crankshaft power pulley for all Type 1 aircooled Volkswagen engines. Manufactured approximately 1 inch smaller in diameter than a standard crank pulley, this lightweight design helps reduce rotational drag on the engine for improved performance and faster engine response.

The reduced size and lighter weight can provide an increase of up to 10% horsepower by decreasing the power required to drive the cooling fan and generator assembly. Being approximately 33% lighter than a stock pulley also helps the engine rev more freely, making this pulley popular for performance street cars, Cal Look builds and drag race applications.

This pulley features clearly marked ignition timing marks with contrasting black numbering for easier timing adjustment and engine setup. It is designed to fit all standard Type 1 based aircooled engines including Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 conversions and Buggy applications.

Because the pulley is smaller in diameter, the cooling fan rotates slower than standard. This can lead to increased engine temperatures, especially during sustained motorway driving or in heavy vehicles.

Important Notes:
• Smaller pulley slows fan speed and may increase engine temperatures
• Not recommended for use on Split Screen or Baywindow Buses due to higher cooling demands
• Best suited to performance Beetles, Ghias, Buggies and lighter vehicles
• Ignition timing should always be checked after installation
• Fan belt may require adjustment depending on setup
