Beetle Rubber Torsion Bar Grommet - 1960-79 (Knobby, Fits Inner Right Only)

This standard replacement torsion bar bush is designed for the inner right-hand side of the rear suspension spring plate assembly on classic Volkswagen aircooled models. Manufactured in the correct “knobbly” style, it provides the correct cushioning and support between the spring plate and torsion housing.

The torsion bar bush plays a critical role in the rear suspension system. It allows the spring plate to rotate smoothly from its fixed pivot point while absorbing vibration and maintaining correct suspension geometry. Over time, original bushes can harden, crack, or collapse, leading to sagging suspension, uneven ride height, knocking noises, or poor handling.

Replacing worn bushes restores proper suspension movement, improves ride quality, and ensures correct alignment of the rear suspension. It is highly recommended to replace these bushes when re-indexing torsion bars or carrying out rear suspension work, as many originals will be decades old.

This bush is sided and must be used with the corresponding opposite knobbly bush 311511245, and in some applications combined with smooth bushes 111511245E depending on setup.
