Crafter 1 Expansion Tank - 2006-16

Replacement coolant expansion tank for Volkswagen Crafter I diesel models. Manufactured from durable heat-resistant plastic, this coolant reservoir is designed to maintain correct coolant expansion and circulation within the engine cooling system while helping remove trapped air from the coolant circuit.

The expansion tank plays a critical role in maintaining correct cooling system pressure and coolant levels. As coolant heats up and expands, excess coolant flows into the expansion tank before returning to the cooling system as temperatures drop. This process helps maintain efficient engine cooling and prevents coolant loss.

Over time the original coolant bottle can become brittle, discoloured or cracked due to constant heat cycling and pressure changes. Common symptoms of failure include coolant leaks, low coolant warnings, coolant smells, or visible cracking around hose connections and seams.

This replacement coolant reservoir is supplied without the pressure cap and is suitable for a wide range of VW Crafter I van, bus and chassis cab models fitted with 2.0 TDI and 2.5 TDI diesel engines.
