Type 25 Rear Brake Backing Plate - Right

This rear right-hand brake drum backing plate is a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to all VW T25 (Type 25) Transporters produced between 1980 and 1992. The backing plate sits behind the rear brake drum and provides the mounting surface for the brake shoes, springs, adjusters and wheel cylinder, while also shielding the internal components from road debris and moisture.

A rusted or weakened backing plate can cause poor shoe alignment, dragging brakes or reduced braking efficiency. Replacing it ensures the drum brake assembly works reliably and safely. This backing plate is manufactured to the correct factory specifications for a precise fit on the right-hand side (driver’s side on RHD models).

Designed for use on standard T25 rear drum brake systems.
Not suitable for 16″ Syncro models, which require different brake components.

No additional parts are needed for installation, though inspecting brake shoes, wheel cylinders and springs during replacement is strongly recommended.
