Type 25 Rear Brake Backing Plate - Left

This rear left-hand brake drum backing plate is a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to all VW T25 (Type 25) Transporters from 1980 to 1992. The backing plate forms the foundation of the rear drum braking system, supporting the brake shoes, springs and wheel cylinder while helping to protect the internal components from dirt, debris and moisture.

A corroded or damaged backing plate can lead to poor brake shoe alignment, uneven braking, excess noise or reduced braking efficiency. Replacing it ensures the rear drum assembly functions correctly and safely. This plate is manufactured to match the original dimensions and mounting points, ensuring an accurate fit on the left-hand side (passenger side on RHD models).

Suitable for standard T25 rear drum systems, but not compatible with 16″ Syncro models, which use a different setup.

No additional parts are required for installation, but it’s advisable to inspect brake shoes, springs and wheel cylinders during fitting, replacing any worn components at the same time.
