Splitscreen Bus Rear Wheel Cylinder - 1955-67 (Also Baywindow Bus Rear Wheel Cylinder - 1968-71) - TRW

High quality TRW rear wheel cylinder designed for early aircooled VW Transporter models. This wheel cylinder is a key component of the drum brake system, converting hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder into mechanical force to push the brake shoes against the drum.

When the brake pedal is pressed, brake fluid enters the wheel cylinder, forcing the internal pistons outward. These pistons press the brake shoes into contact with the drum, creating friction to slow or stop the vehicle. When the pedal is released, the pressure drops and the shoes retract. A worn or leaking wheel cylinder can lead to reduced braking performance, pulling to one side, fluid leaks, or complete brake failure.

This unit features a 24mm piston size, providing the correct braking force for early Transporter rear brake setups. Manufactured by TRW, it offers reliable sealing, consistent piston movement, and long service life.

Sold individually – 2 required per vehicle.
Fits rear axle, both left (passenger side) and right (driver side).
