Baywindow Bus Heat Exchanger To Chassis Heater Muffler - 1972-79 (340mm X 60mm X 60mm)

Heater muffler designed to connect the heat exchangers to the main heater tubes, allowing warm air generated by the engine to be directed into the vehicle interior. This component is essential for maintaining proper cabin heating performance on late Baywindow buses.

Fitted on T2 Baywindow models from August 1971 to 1979, this heater muffler acts as a central junction in the heating system. It collects heated air from the engine’s heat exchangers and channels it efficiently into the vehicle’s heater ducting. The internal design helps smooth airflow and reduce turbulence, ensuring consistent heat delivery to the front of the vehicle.

Over time, original heater mufflers can suffer from internal corrosion, rust perforation, or blockages, which leads to poor heating performance or loss of warm air altogether. Replacing this part restores proper airflow and helps maintain a comfortable cabin temperature—especially important in colder climates or for year-round use.

Although designed for late Baywindow models, these units can also be fitted to earlier vehicles where compatible, making them a versatile solution for repairs and upgrades.
