Black Rocker Cover - Type 1 Engines, Waterboxer Engines

Top quality reproduction rocker cover designed for a wide range of classic aircooled Volkswagen engines, as well as later Waterboxer powered T25/T3 models. This is a direct replacement part, manufactured to provide a secure seal and correct fitment for reliable engine operation.

The rocker cover (also known as a valve cover) sits over the cylinder head and encloses the rocker arms and valve gear. Its primary function is to retain engine oil within the valve train area while preventing dirt and debris from entering. A good seal is essential, as oil leaks from this area are common on older engines and can lead to mess, oil loss, and potential engine damage if left unresolved.

These covers are designed to work with standard retaining clips and cork or rubber rocker cover gaskets, ensuring a tight seal against the cylinder head. Over time, original covers can become warped or corroded, causing persistent leaks—replacing them with a high-quality reproduction restores proper sealing and reliability.
