Standard style vacuum advance distributor for aircooled Volkswagen Type 1 based engines from 1200cc to 1600cc. This distributor is ideal when you want to keep your engine close to standard specification while improving ignition reliability and smooth running.
This unit uses both single vacuum advance and centrifugal advance, commonly known as an SVDA distributor. The centrifugal advance reacts to engine speed, while the vacuum advance responds to engine load through the carburettor vacuum signal. Together they help provide more accurate ignition timing, smoother acceleration, improved drivability and better part-throttle performance compared with a mechanical-only distributor.
The distributor is supplied complete with points, condenser, rotor arm, distributor cap and oil seal, making it a straightforward replacement for worn or unreliable original units. A worn distributor can cause poor starting, hesitation, flat spots, misfiring, uneven idle and reduced fuel economy.
Important Notes:
• Will not fit Type 3 1500cc and 1600cc engines using the original mechanical fuel pump
• Distributor O-ring seal is sold separately – use part number 111905261
• Requires a suitable carburettor vacuum port for correct operation
• Timing must be set correctly after installation
• Best suited to standard or near-standard engine setups
