Black 3 piece lower engine tinware set for Volkswagen aircooled 1300cc–1600cc Type 1 based engines. These tinware pieces fit between the engine case and the cylinder heads, below the pushrod tubes, protecting the pushrod tubes and helping direct cooling air correctly around the cylinders and heads.
Correct engine tinware is essential on aircooled engines. Missing or damaged tinware can cause overheating by allowing cooling air to escape instead of being directed over the cylinders and heads.
This is a good quality reproduction 3 piece kit. The tinware is supplied in transport packing paint, so painting or powder coating is recommended before installation for long-term durability and corrosion protection.
