59mm Oil Cooler Seal (5mm Thick)

This 59 x 5mm oil cooler seal fits between the oil cooler, oil cooler housing and engine block on a wide range of VW and Porsche watercooled engines. It is designed to create a secure oil-tight seal where the cooler assembly mounts to the engine, helping prevent oil leaks and maintaining correct oil circulation through the cooler.

The oil cooler transfers heat from the engine oil into the cooling system or surrounding cooler housing, depending on engine type. This seal prevents pressurised engine oil escaping from the joint between the cooler and housing. A failed or flattened seal can cause oil leaks around the filter housing/oil cooler area, oil residue down the engine block, low oil level, burning oil smells, or contamination around the undertray.

Manufactured from durable sealing material, this replacement seal is ideal when removing or replacing the oil cooler, oil filter housing, cooler adaptor or related engine components. Always clean the mating faces before fitting and check that the housing and cooler surfaces are not warped, corroded or damaged. Lightly lubricate the seal with clean engine oil before installation and tighten the cooler/housing fixings evenly to the correct specification.

Only one seal is supplied. Check your engine layout before ordering, as some applications may use more than one seal or additional gaskets/O-rings around the oil cooler or filter housing assembly.
