This standard size big end bearing set is designed for Volkswagen diesel engines where the crankshaft journals remain within original factory specification (not reground). Big end bearings sit between the connecting rods and the crankshaft, supporting rotation under extreme load while maintaining a pressurised oil film. Correct bearing condition is essential for oil pressure, smooth running, and crankshaft longevity.

Worn big end bearings can cause bottom-end knocking, low oil pressure, metallic debris in the oil, and eventual crank damage.
