228mm Clutch Kit - Type 4 Engines, Pre 1989 Waterboxer Engines

This 228mm clutch kit is a top-quality reproduction replacement for late 2000cc aircooled Type 4 engines and early 1.9 & 2.1 Waterboxer engines fitted to Type 25 / T3 buses up to April 1989. Designed to restore smooth engagement and reliable torque transfer, it’s ideal for stock and mildly uprated engines used in daily driving, touring, or camper applications.

The kit includes all the core components required for a full clutch refresh and is matched to the factory 228mm flywheel with a 24-tooth friction disc. As VW used multiple clutch sizes during this period, please note that some early Waterboxer engines were fitted with 215mm clutches—checking before ordering is essential.
