These engines use both a supercharger and turbocharger, meaning airflow demand is higher than typical turbo engines. This intake kit helps deliver the increased airflow required for optimum performance.

By replacing the restrictive factory airbox with a large 4-inch intake pipe and high-flow nanofibre filter, the system allows the engine to breathe more efficiently while enhancing the distinctive induction sound of the twincharged setup.

What This Kit Does & How It Works

The factory intake system uses a sealed airbox with narrow pipework designed primarily to reduce noise and emissions. On the twincharged 1.4 TSI engine, this can restrict airflow feeding both the supercharger and turbocharger.

This MST intake system replaces the factory airbox with a large 4″ intake pipe and high-flow nanofibre filter. The increased intake diameter allows a larger volume of air to reach the forced-induction system, helping the supercharger and turbocharger operate more efficiently.

The mandrel-bent 6061 aluminium intake pipe ensures smooth airflow with minimal turbulence, while the heat shield helps isolate the filter from engine bay heat, allowing cooler air to reach the intake system.
