6R Polo Performance Foam Induction Kit - 1.8 TSI (GTi)

This Ramair Performance Intake Kit is engineered specifically for vehicles fitted with the 1.8 TSI EA888 engine, delivering improved airflow, sharper throttle response and a significantly enhanced induction tone. Designed as a full system including an upgraded turbo elbow, this kit removes the common restrictions found in the factory airbox and turbo inlet setup.

What This Intake System Does

The standard intake system on the 1.8 TSI is designed for refinement and noise reduction. However, the factory airbox and turbo inlet elbow can restrict airflow — particularly on tuned vehicles.

This Ramair system improves performance by:

• Replacing the restrictive OE airbox with a high-flow multi-layer foam filter
• Upgrading the factory turbo elbow to a freer-flowing design
• Reducing airflow turbulence before the turbocharger
• Increasing intake surface area for improved breathing

The result is:

• Sharper throttle response

• Faster turbo spool

• Stronger mid-range pull

• Enhanced induction and turbo sound

• Improved airflow consistency on tuned engines

How It Works

Turbocharged EA888 engines rely on efficient airflow to generate boost. The OE intake and turbo elbow can create a bottleneck just before the compressor housing.

This kit improves the entire airflow path:

1. Air enters through a large-surface Ramair foam filter.

2. The two-part black powder-coated heatshield isolates the filter from engine bay heat.

3. The black silicone coupler ensures smooth, unrestricted airflow.

4. The upgraded black powder-coated turbo elbow removes restriction at the turbo inlet.

By improving airflow directly into the turbo, boost builds more efficiently and throttle response becomes more immediate.

The foam filter is fully reusable and can be cleaned using CK-003 filter maintenance kit, making this a long-term upgrade.
