Stainless Steel 12 Volt Alternator / Dynamo Strap for Aircooled VW Engines
This stainless steel alternator and dynamo strap is used to secure the charging unit to its pedestal stand on VW aircooled 1200cc to 1600cc based engines. It fits around the body of the alternator or 12 volt dynamo and clamps it firmly to the stand, keeping the pulley aligned with the fan belt and helping prevent movement, vibration and belt misalignment.
Made from durable stainless steel, this strap is stronger and longer lasting than the original mild steel type, making it a popular upgrade for standard engines as well as higher performance aircooled builds. It is suitable for both 12 volt generator/dynamo and alternator installations where the correct stand is already fitted.
The strap is supplied with an upgraded T-bolt and Nyloc nut, replacing the standard 8mm bolt and nut arrangement used on many original straps. This gives a more secure clamping action and helps prevent the fixing from loosening with engine vibration.
