Beetle EMPI Short Shaft T-Handle Button Shifter - LHD Models Only

EMPI polished aluminium T-handle quick shift gear shifter with shorter 10″ shaft, designed for custom Volkswagen applications including Buggies, Bajas and kit cars where the seats are mounted directly to the floor.

This compact version provides the same sporty short-throw shifting action as the standard EMPI quick shift shifter but with a reduced overall height for improved comfort and easier reach in vehicles with low seating positions. The integrated quick shift mechanism reduces gear lever travel for quicker and more precise gear changes compared to the original factory shifter.

The polished aluminium T-handle gives a classic performance appearance and comfortable grip, while the push button reverse lockout helps prevent accidental engagement of reverse gear during driving.

The shorter shaft design is particularly useful in off-road Buggies, Baja Bugs and custom Beetles where standard-length shifters can feel too tall due to lowered seating positions or modified interiors.

Suitable for VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3, Trekker and custom Buggy/Baja models using the standard VW floor-mounted gearshift setup.

For use on Left hand Drive models only.

For best shifting performance we recommend inspecting the shift rod bush, coupler and gearbox mounts during installation, as worn linkage parts can affect gear selection quality.
