Beetle Wide 5 EMPI Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit (5x205 PCD) - Pre 1967 Models

Deluxe EMPI rear disc brake conversion kit for swing axle Volkswagen Beetles, Karmann Ghias, Buggies and Baja models up to 1967. Designed as a complete bolt-on upgrade, this kit converts the original rear drum brakes to a modern rear disc brake setup for improved braking performance, better heat dissipation, and more consistent stopping power.

This zero offset kit retains the original wheel position, making it ideal for vehicles where wheel clearance and track width are important. Featuring the original wide-5 5×205 stud pattern, the kit maintains classic Volkswagen styling while dramatically improving braking efficiency and pedal response.

The kit includes rear brake discs, calipers, cast caliper brackets, brake pads, flexible brake hoses, wheel bearing kits, handbrake cables, and hub seal kits, making installation straightforward with all major components supplied. Integrated handbrake calipers allow full use of the factory style handbrake system.

Disc brakes offer major advantages over original drum brakes including improved wet weather braking, reduced brake fade, easier servicing, and more predictable stopping performance, especially on modified vehicles, Bajas, and heavier engine conversions.

Replacement brake pads, discs, and handbrake cables are available separately for future servicing.
