Heavy-duty chromoly conversion drive flange set designed to allow a Volkswagen Type 1 IRS gearbox to use larger Type 2 100mm CV joints. This conversion setup was originally used on VW Type 181 Trekker/Thing models and is a popular upgrade for Baja Bugs, off-road Beetles, buggies, and high performance IRS transmission builds.
Manufactured from high strength chromoly forgings for superior durability and shock resistance, these flanges are designed to cope with increased suspension travel, larger engines, off-road use, and high torque applications where standard Type 1 CV flanges may fail.
The larger 100mm Type 2 CV joint setup offers improved articulation and increased strength compared to standard Beetle IRS CV joints, making them ideal for off-road suspension conversions and performance driveline upgrades.
These flanges fit Type 1 IRS gearboxes with 33 splines and feature 6 threaded M8 mounting holes for standard Type 2 CV joint bolts.
Suitable for use with Type 2 100mm CV joints, off-road axles, and heavy-duty driveline setups.
