Swing Axle Heavy Duty Side Plate

Heavy duty aluminium alloy side cover plate for Volkswagen swing axle gearboxes. Designed as a strengthened replacement for the original factory side plate, helping keep the differential ring and pinion correctly aligned under high load and performance driving conditions.

Manufactured from reinforced 356 T6 aluminium alloy, these heavy duty side plates are considerably stronger and thicker than standard factory covers. They help prevent flex in the differential housing which can allow the ring and pinion gears to move apart under acceleration, hard launches or increased engine torque.

Ideal for performance street cars, drag racing applications, off road vehicles and larger engine conversions where additional gearbox strength is required. Commonly fitted during gearbox rebuilds alongside heavy duty mounts, super diffs and upgraded transmission components.
