EMPI Stinger Baffle

EMPI fibreglass wrapped exhaust baffle designed to reduce exhaust noise and back pressure when fitted into EMPI Baja Stinger exhaust systems and EMPI Swivel Flange Stingers for Type 1 aircooled Volkswagen engines.

This removable insert baffle fits inside the stinger tailpipe and helps soften the harsh exhaust tone commonly associated with open stinger exhaust systems while still maintaining excellent exhaust flow for performance applications. The internal perforated tube design combined with the fibreglass wrapping absorbs exhaust resonance and reduces overall sound levels without heavily restricting performance.

Ideal for Baja Bugs, off-road Beetles, Buggies, Sand Rails, and street driven vehicles using stinger exhaust systems where some noise reduction is desired. The baffle can also help improve drivability by slightly increasing exhaust scavenging and reducing excessive open exhaust resonance.

Manufactured with a 45mm bore and large 72mm opening to suit EMPI stinger systems. The baffle is retained inside the stinger using a self tapping screw which must be purchased separately.

For best results, periodically inspect the fibreglass packing material and mounting screw, especially on off-road vehicles exposed to vibration and moisture.
