Monza Single Tip Exhaust - Type 1 Engines (Not 1200cc)

Upgrade the look and sound of your aircooled Volkswagen with this Empi Monza style GT exhaust system, designed to fit all 1300cc–1600cc Type 1 based engines. Finished in black with a single chromed tailpipe, this system offers a sporty appearance combined with improved exhaust flow over standard systems.

Constructed from steel with 1 3/8″ tubing, this exhaust is designed to improve engine breathing by allowing exhaust gases to exit more efficiently. This helps reduce back pressure compared to stock mufflers, which can improve throttle response and overall engine performance. The system includes an integrated flex hose and fitting kit, making installation straightforward when replacing an existing exhaust.

A key advantage of this system is its good ground clearance, making it particularly suitable for lowered vehicles where standard exhausts may sit too low and risk grounding. The single tailpipe exits in a non-standard position, meaning it is not designed to exit through the original rear apron cut-out, giving your vehicle a more custom appearance.

Please note: EMPI exhaust systems are supplied with a protective transport coating that acts as a rust inhibitor. This coating will burn off during initial use. For best results and longevity, it is recommended to clean the exhaust with solvent and apply a high-temperature exhaust paint prior to installation. These systems are not warranted against rust.

For installation, you may also require new exhaust gaskets, heater box connections, and fresh mounting hardware if not already included or if replacing worn components.
