Beetle Sidewinder Exhaust

Upgrade your aircooled Volkswagen with this 1½” (38mm) Sidewinder exhaust system, designed to improve exhaust flow and increase performance on 1300cc to 1600cc Type 1 engines. The 4-into-1 merged collector design helps reduce exhaust back pressure, improving throttle response and power delivery whilst the Sidewinder layout provides excellent ground clearance, making it ideal for lowered Beetles and performance applications.

Manufactured from mild steel with a black protective shipping finish, this system is supplied with a polished stainless steel tailpipe and includes everything required for installation. The black coating is intended as transport protection only and should be removed before installation and replaced with a quality high-temperature exhaust paint for maximum durability.

Fitting Notes

• Suitable for upright Type 1 engines only.
• Not suitable for VW Split Screen or Baywindow models.
• Replaces the original heater boxes with J-Tubes, so the vehicle will no longer have cabin heating.
• Remove the transport paint before fitting and repaint with a quality heat-resistant exhaust paint.
• We recommend fitting new exhaust port gaskets and copper nuts during installation.
