Baja Exhaust Header With J Tubes

Black mild steel Baja-style exhaust header with J-tubes for aircooled Volkswagen Type 1 engines.
This EMPI Baja header system is designed for off-road, Baja Bug and performance applications where heater boxes are no longer required. The system replaces the original heat exchangers with J-tubes, creating a simpler and more efficient exhaust layout that improves exhaust flow while reducing weight.
Manufactured from mild steel and finished in a protective black coating, this header features 35mm primary tubes and large 3-bolt flanges for compatibility with EMPI Baja silencers and mufflers. The free-flowing design helps improve exhaust scavenging, allowing the engine to breathe more efficiently and potentially improving throttle response and overall performance.
The supplied J-tubes replace the factory heater boxes, making this system suitable for vehicles used in warmer climates, competition applications or off-road builds where cabin heating is not required. It provides an excellent foundation for fitting EMPI Baja mufflers and stinger systems.
Ideal for Beetles, Karmann Ghias, Buggies and Baja Bugs running 1300cc, 1500cc or 1600cc Type 1 engines.
