94mm Barrel Spacer Kit (0.060" Thick) - Type 1 Engines

Cylinder base shim set for aircooled VW Type 1 engines using 94mm cylinders and pistons.

These precision shims fit between the cylinder barrel and crankcase to increase deck height and alter engine compression ratio during assembly. By spacing the cylinders further away from the crankcase, combustion chamber volume is increased, helping reduce compression while providing the piston-to-head clearance required on high performance and stroker engine combinations.

Cylinder base shims are commonly used during 1914cc and larger capacity engine builds where substantial deck height correction is required. They are also ideal for compensating for flycut cylinder heads, longer stroke crankshafts and other machining modifications during engine blueprinting.

Designed for use with 94mm barrels commonly fitted to large displacement Type 1 engines.

Manufactured to 0.060″ thickness (1.524mm), making them suitable for substantial deck height and compression ratio adjustments.

Sold as a set of 4, enough for one complete engine.

We recommend accurately measuring deck height and calculating final compression ratio before final engine assembly. Ensure cylinder seating surfaces are clean and flat during installation.
