94mm Barrel Spacer Kit (0.020" Thick) - Type 1 Engines

Cylinder base shim set for aircooled VW Type 1 engines using 94mm cylinders and pistons.

These precision-engineered shims fit between the cylinder barrel and crankcase to alter deck height and adjust engine compression ratio during assembly. By increasing the cylinder spacing from the crankcase, combustion chamber volume is increased, helping reduce compression while setting correct piston-to-head clearance.

Cylinder base shims are commonly used during performance engine builds, particularly on 1914cc and larger displacement Type 1 engines where accurate deck height setup is essential. They are also ideal for correcting compression ratios after flycutting cylinder heads, crankcase machining or fitting longer stroke crankshafts.

Designed for use with 94mm barrels commonly fitted to large capacity and stroker Type 1 engines.

Manufactured to 0.020″ thickness (0.508mm), making them suitable for moderate deck height correction and compression ratio adjustment.

Sold as a set of 4, enough for one complete engine.

We recommend carefully measuring deck height and calculating final compression ratio before final engine assembly. Always ensure cylinder seating surfaces are clean and flat during installation.
