Heavy-duty off-road skid plate designed to protect the engine and gearbox on aircooled Volkswagen Type 1 vehicles fitted with off-road exhaust systems.
Whether you`re tackling rocky trails, green lanes or sand dunes, protecting the underside of your engine is essential. This heavy-duty off-road skid plate is designed to shield the engine crankcase, gearbox and lower exhaust components from impacts with rocks, tree roots and other obstacles that could otherwise cause expensive damage.
Manufactured from heavy gauge steel, the skid plate forms a strong protective barrier beneath the engine and transmission while maintaining excellent ground clearance. It is specifically designed for use with off-road and Baja-style exhaust systems, making it the ideal addition to Baja Bugs, Beach Buggies and other off-road Type 1 builds.
The skid plate helps prevent damage to the engine case, sump area and transmission during off-road driving, giving you greater confidence when tackling rough terrain. It also provides additional rigidity around the rear engine support area and is supplied complete with the necessary mounting hardware for installation.
Whether you`re building a dedicated off-road racer or simply want extra protection for your weekend trail vehicle, this skid plate is an essential upgrade.
