32/36 Progressive Carburettor Manifold Pre Heat Pipes - Type 1 Engines

These pre-heat tubes are designed specifically for Weber 32/36 progressive carburettor conversions fitted to Volkswagen Type 1 aircooled engines ranging from 1300cc to 1600cc. When upgrading to a Weber progressive carb, correctly routed pre-heat is absolutely essential to prevent intake icing and poor drivability—especially in cooler climates. These tubes deliver warm air from the exhaust heat riser system directly to the inlet manifold, ensuring the carburettor remains at the proper operating temperature during light throttle use and cold starts.

Working in conjunction with the dedicated Weber 32/36 manifold (part number AC1293232), the tubes help maintain consistent fuel atomisation by keeping the manifold warm, reducing flat spots and hesitation that can occur when the intake becomes too cold. Because the progressive carburettor design relies heavily on air velocity before the secondary barrel opens, proper manifold heat is a critical installation requirement.

These tubes are NOT compatible with standard-style 34PICT manifolds or other aftermarket manifolds not designed for the Weber 32/36 layout. They are shaped to match the AC1293232 manifold only, ensuring a precise fit and secure sealing at the heat riser flanges. When fitting, you may require new heat riser gaskets, clamps, depending on the condition of existing hardware.
