It doesn't 'need' a relay to run, but we would recommend fitting a relay for safety. We sell fuel pump relay kits HERE. It will work on your carb setup yes.
Yes you would remove the original fuel pump if installing this pump.
As long as it is not running fuel injection then yes this fuel pump should work fine.
