This black engine tinware is a high-quality reproduction piece designed to sit over the exhaust system at the rear of your aircooled VW engine. Unlike standard tinware, this version does not feature holes for heater hoses, making it ideal for vehicles without heat exchangers or with a custom exhaust setup. However, it does retain cutouts for the pre-heat pipes, allowing for correct engine function and carburettor performance.
This tinware is finished in durable black coating for corrosion resistance and an OEM-style appearance. While it has a slightly different profile than original factory pieces, it fits all Beetles from 1960 to 1979, and can also be used on VW Splitscreen and Early Baywindow Buses (1968–1972) that feature a removable rear valance.
Note: This tinware will not fit Baywindow Buses from 1973 to 1979 due to differences in engine bay layout and valance design.
Perfect for restorations, custom builds, or removing heater functions from your engine bay for a cleaner setup, this tinware helps maintain proper engine cooling by sealing off the lower engine compartment.
