Fanshroud Air Outlet Plugs (Original Fanshrouds)

These steel-formed blanking caps are designed to seal off the heater hose outlets on original aircooled VW fan shrouds when heater hoses are removed. Ideal for performance builds or simplified engine bays, they allow you to retain your original fan shroud while neatly closing unused air outlets.
When heater hoses are removed, the open outlets in the fan shroud can cause a loss of cooling air pressure, reducing the efficiency of the engine cooling system. These caps block the openings, helping maintain proper airflow through the shroud and over the cylinder heads and oil cooler.
Each cap is manufactured from durable formed steel for a secure fit and long service life. Supplied with fixing screws, they are easy to install directly onto the original fan shroud outlets. For best results, it is recommended to drill an 8mm hole in the centre of each cap before fitting. This allows controlled pressure relief within the fan shroud, helping maintain balanced airflow and effective cooling.
This is a simple but highly effective solution when deleting heater systems without switching to a “no-air” performance fan shroud.
