96 Plate Mesa Oil Cooler Element (With Electric Fan)

EMPI 96 plate Mesa external oil cooler fitted with an electric cooling fan for VW Type 1 aircooled engines. Designed for extreme performance applications where maximum oil cooling capacity is essential.

The large 96 plate Mesa cooler provides exceptional heat dissipation and substantially improved oil temperature control for high horsepower, turbocharged, stroker and competition engines. The Mesa-cool multiple flow path design improves cooling efficiency while maintaining excellent oil flow with minimal pressure loss, helping protect vital engine components under extreme conditions.

Manufactured from aerospace quality aluminium using fluxless oven-brazed construction, this cooler is highly resistant to vibration, corrosion and cracking. The slimline finned design increases surface area for improved heat transfer while remaining compact enough for a wide range of installation positions.

The integrated electric cooling fan provides forced airflow through the cooler even when the vehicle is stationary or travelling at low speed. This makes it particularly effective for off-road vehicles, traffic driving, hill climbs, drag cars and hot climate operation where natural airflow may be limited.

This cooler is ideally suited for use with full flow oil systems together with remote oil filter heads and thermostat systems. On enclosed engine vehicles such as Beetles and Buses, it is strongly recommended to retain the original doghouse oil cooler and use the external Mesa cooler as an additional cooling system.
