Engle 28mm Cam Followers (Lifters) - Type 1 Engines

These Engle 28mm cam lifters are a must-have upgrade for high-performance VW Type 1 aircooled engines, especially those running high-lift and aggressive camshafts. Designed to cope with increased valve train loads and higher engine speeds, these lifters provide strength, stability, and reliability where standard lifters can struggle.

Each lifter features a 28mm diameter head and weighs approximately 100 grams, offering an excellent balance between strength and controlled valvetrain mass. The larger lifter face spreads the load more evenly across the cam lobe, reducing wear and helping the camshaft survive in demanding performance and race applications. This makes them particularly well suited to high lift Engle camshafts and other aftermarket performance cams.

Manufactured to Engle’s exacting standards, these lifters are precision finished to ensure correct rotation in the lifter bore, smooth cam break-in, and long service life. When combined with the correct camshaft, valve springs, and break-in procedure, they help maintain accurate valve timing and reduce the risk of premature cam or lifter failure.

Supplied as a set of 8, this kit provides enough lifters to fully equip one complete Type 1 aircooled engine.
